Thank You Notes

Rose Brooks

Thank you for helping us break the cycle of domestic violence and create safe futures. Your gift of $500.00 makes our life-saving work possible.
As we continue to be here for survivors, both behind our shelter walls and throughout the community, we are incredibly grateful for your kindness. Because of you, thousands of individuals who seek to create a safe future away from domestic violence, find the support they need. And while we dream of a day when our services are no longer needed, we count it a privilege to still be here providing emergency safety, permanent housing, supportive services, and more for survivors and their children.
Thank you for the gifts of safety you provide each and every day. With your help and your voices, survivors of domestic violence will have a bright and safe future.

Sincerely,
Lisa Fleming, Chief Executive Officer.

Dear friends,
On behalf of all of us at Cross-Lines, thank you so much for your recent generous donation!
YOU allow us to provide our life-changing programs and services to those in need in our community.
We are serving more people than ever before…thanks to YOUR support. Thanks to YOU, programs like our Community Market and Community Kitchen are meeting the needs of the community. Thanks to YOU, community members can access the resources they need to feed their families fresh and healthy food.
In 2021, Cross-Lines served more than 27,000 people experiencing hunger through the market and served over 60,000 meals through the Community Kitchen. Thank you for being a beacon of hope in our community. We value YOU and the difference you make for Cross-Lines!

With Appreciation,

Called to Greatness

Hello at Knox Church,
My young disciple and “padawan” of The Way, (what the original Jesus followers called Christianity.) Jordan Lavin got baptized! He said it best when I was asking him about what he looks forward to after his water baptism.
Jordan: “I know it is going to be challenging, but I know God will be with me. I will get to be a part of God’s mission, and that’s pretty exciting!” Praise God in His timing in ministering to Jordan and incorporating him into partnering with His story of redeeming the earth.

Knox Church, the Prayer Warriors:
Update on the housing situation: As of now, we are under contract for a home in Lawrence. It is smack dab in between where Church and the Campus reside. Thank you for your prayers! God’s hands were all over this and the whole thing smelled like Him. Update your address books because it will be at 3200 Saddlehorn Dr. Lawrence, KS 66049 as of July 7 (Lord willing.)
By the next newsletter we will be gearing up for the new semester! Pray for our biggest vision yet, as we reach the campus and world!
For His Kingdom,
S.J. Rosenak
P.S. Thank you for your faithfulness all of these years!

A Community Response to Homelessness

Greetings:
Please accept our deepest thanks for your most recent donation in the amount of $2,500.00
With your faithful financial contributions, as well as the many years you have hosted our guest families overnight, you’ve demonstrated your commitment to our work here at IHN, of providing shelter and empowering homeless and single females in our community. There is no way to fully express our gratitude for your loyalty. We at IHN are continually inspired by the dedication and generosity of donors like you who answer the call to give again and again.
Simply put, if it wasn’t for faithful supporters like you, we wouldn’t exist. So thank you for providing the funds and the overnight facilities that we need to make a difference in the lives of the homeless right here in our own community.
We are deeply grateful for your support and hope that you will continue to partner with us in our mission to improve the lives of the homeless. Thank you for your donation.
Sincerely,
Vicki L. Dercher, Executive Director

Freestylin' with Fred

It was back in December of 2021 that I sensed God wanted me to pray for Knox Church to be a deeply caring community to those God placed in our path.  I continue to pray a similar prayer for our church.  As most of you know, we have faced many serious health issues and spiritual testing.  God never promises us in His word that life will be without trials.  The fact is that the ‘testing of our faith produces an enduring character.’   We do not want to be faced with difficult temptations, but the devil still seeks us out like a ‘roaring lion’.  I Peter 4:12, 13 & 16 reminds us, “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you, but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing; so that also at the revelation of His glory, you may rejoice with exaltation. But if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not feel ashamed, but in that name let him glorify God.”

I spoke with my life long friend Conrad Lawrence today on the phone.  He just spent two weeks in Aurora, Colorado, with his daughter Heidi and her son Colton.  His daughter suffers from Myotonic Dystrophy; which is a rare and severe form of muscular dystrophy.  All three of his children suffer from this crippling disease.  None of them can work due to the effects of the disease on their bodies.  Their young grandson Colton (nine years old) has a very weak heart that will need a surgical procedure in August.  So Conrad and his wife Kay have become lifelong caregivers to their three kids and grandchildren.  Since they are both deeply committed to Christ, we often pray that God’s grace will be sufficient for them each day.  Let me close with the Matthew 6:34 reminder, “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Heart to Heart

Thank you for your generous donation in support of Heart to Heart International’s humanitarian mission to improve healthcare access throughout the United States and the world.
Thanks to you, we are able to provide critical medicines, medical supplies and health services to people in under-resourced communities and after disasters and crises. We hope you know how truly grateful we are that you chose to partner with us in creating a healthier world.
As we celebrate our 30th Anniversary this year, not only are we looking back at how many people have been helped since our first medical aid shipment in 1992, but we are also looking ahead to all the people we can help in the future with your support.
I encourage you to stay connected with us throughout our yearlong celebration. Read stories on our website (www.hearttoheart.org), follow us on social media and sign up to receive email updates (www.hearttoheart.org/subscribe).
On behalf of those we serve, thank you for making Heart to Heart International your connection to a world in need.

With gratitude,

Kim Carroll
