Sullivans’ Kansas City cru Ministry Update

It was a late Friday afternoon near the end of September. The weather was warm but not too hot and seemed to be cooling off just enough to make it feel like fall. As I sat at the registration table for our annual retreat, I wondered how many students would come. I didn’t need to wonder long, because soon enough students began to stream in. That day over 100 students from Nebraska, Missouri, and Kansas checked in for the weekend!

Each year we host a weekend retreat for students called Fall Getaway. It is designed to be a time of refreshment, rest and renewal from the fast-paced rhythms of school. Students get to hear compelling messages from God’s Word, spend time personally in the Scriptures, connect with other students and enjoy some fresh air including games, outdoor sports and even a bonfire complete with S’mores!

Hayden is a student from Johnson County Community College who decided to come at the last minute. Excited he wanted to come; I wondered what his experience would be since he didn’t really know anyone. After the retreat he texted me to say this, “Hey I just wanted to say thanks for inviting me and giving me this opportunity of coming here.” Thank you for helping Hayden connect with the Lord and other believers! Your prayers and gifts are the fuel that helps make all we do possible!
