This classic fiction is a poignant tale of childhood and the ties of family.  A Tree Grows in Brooklyn will transport the reader to the early 1900s where a little girl named Francie dreamily looks out her window at a tree struggling to reach the sky.
Your are invited to read the book and attend the Book Group gathering  Tuesday, October 22, 2:30pm, in the Parlor, to discuss the book with others.
The book was an immense success.  It was also released in an Armed Services Edition, the size of a paperback, to fit in a uniform pocket.  One Marine wrote to Smith, “I can’t explain the emotion that took place in this dead heart of mine. . .
