Drama has been used in churches to communicate the good news of God’s love for the world since the Middle Ages. Knox has reclaimed this art form for its contemporary worship service at 9:00am on Sunday morning. Each drama is a vignette of real life issues and introduces the topic of the message for the morning.
The team rehearses in the church Annex the third Saturday of the month at 9am. It is at this time that the actors receive their assignments and scripts for the following month. Each drama is rehearsed and then the actors are sent home to memorize their lines. The actors gather together again at the church on the morning their vignette is going to be performed. This final rehearsal takes place at 8:00am in room 215a during which adjustments are made to improve the presentation.
Many from the team are also involved in the annual Christmas and Easter presentations.
Everyone is encouraged to come and “kick the tires” of this ministry without obligation. Come and see what happens and how you might become involved. Perhaps God is calling you to participate in a whole new area filled with excitement, new relationships and the opportunity to use your creativity to the fullest.
